About us
TIKTIK is an environmentalist design brand based in the hills around Budapest, creating high-end, handmade rugs and upcycled furniture. Rooted in sustainability, collaboration, and contemporary art, TIKTIK blends natural materials with visionary design to offer timeless, eco-conscious pieces.
We’re a husband-and-wife team behind TIKTIK, a small family business built on craftsmanship and environmental values.
András, raised in his father’s carpentry workshop, has handmade in his bones.
Luca is the voice of our online presence and brings a keen eye for design.
Our baby girl is still too small to make her own things, but she comes along for the journey, quietly adding to the magic.
We live and create in the same place—in a self-built, ultra-efficient wooden home and studio completed between 2022–2024. Standing on ground screws, with near-zero energy use, our home provides the ideal setting for truly sustainable production.
About upcycling
If you want to produce goods in the 21st century—an era marked by global climate change and an economy addicted to endless expansion—sustainability is a fundamental starting point for making anything today.
Our answer to this challenge is to work with objects that already exist. By reusing previously made pieces—like furniture or garments—we avoid the vast environmental impact of producing something entirely new.
Whenever we do need to create something from scratch, like rugs and bags, we only use 100% natural materials, such as wool yarn and cotton fabric. This way, we avoid becoming producers of fossil-based textiles emitting forever-plastics.
About our furniture
At TIKTIK, we give new life to mid and late 20th-century pieces of furniture, blending timeless design with an environmentally-conscious approach. By reimagining and restoring existing furniture, we reduce the need for new resources and help minimize waste.
Upcycling not only lessens the environmental impact of manufacturing but also preserves the character and craftsmanship of vintage designs, which can’t be replicated anymore. Every item tells a story, offering a one-of-a-kind piece that adds vintage charm to your space. This process supports a greener planet while honoring the past and promoting eco-friendly design for the future.
About our rugs
Our rugs are created in collaboration with contemporary artists and illustrators, resulting in unique and bespoke designs. We use all-natural materials, with wool being the key highlight—this special, high-quality material ensures each rug is not only luxurious but also eco-friendly. Each design is handcrafted to add warmth and character to your home.
